Waiter/Waitress

Waiter/Waitress Wanted – Graduate Cambridge Is Calling. Are You Ready?

Cambridge doesn’t do ordinary. Neither do we. And we’re betting neither do you.

White Rabbit Hospitality creates and operates extraordinary Food & Beverage experiences within some of the UK’s most iconic hotels. At Graduate Cambridge, a hotel that pulses with the wit, ambition, and energy of one of the world’s great university cities, we’re building a front-of-house team that matches its surroundings: warm, sharp, and seriously good at making guests feel like the only people in the room. We’re looking for a Waiter/Waitress to come and make their mark.

This is more than a waiting job. This is your chance to become part of the fabric of one of Cambridge’s most celebrated hotel restaurants, delivering brilliant service, building genuine connections with guests, and creating the kind of moments people come back for. Long after they’ve punted their way down the Cam, they’ll still be talking about the meal you helped make special.

At White Rabbit Hospitality, our values aren’t just words on a wall: Hospitality is at our core, We do the right thing, We pursue excellence, and We are all entrepreneurs. If that sounds like your kind of table, you’re already our kind of person.

Our Values – Lived on Every Section, Every Service

HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE: Great hospitality isn’t a job title – it’s a mindset. Every table turn, every food recommendation, every warm goodbye is a chance to make someone’s day. WE DO THE RIGHT THING: We back our people, hold ourselves to high standards, and never cut corners – whether guests are watching or not. WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE: We obsess over the details – from a perfectly timed dish to remembering that a regular always wants still water without asking. Good enough is never good enough. WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS: Spotted something that could make service better? Say it. We want people who treat every section like it’s their own business.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll be the face guests remember, the one who makes a birthday dinner feel extra special, a business lunch feel effortless, and a solo traveller feel genuinely looked after. Here’s what that looks like:

• Own the welcome – greet every guest like they’re the best thing to walk through the door today, because as far as you’re concerned, they are.

• Deliver flawless table service – from the moment guests sit down to the moment they leave, every step of the journey should feel effortless on their end (even when it isn’t on yours).

• Know your menu inside out – so when a guest asks “what do you recommend?”, you light up rather than reach for the menu.

• Read the room, read the guest – and then do the thing they didn’t even know they needed. That’s where the magic lives.

• Run a tight section – clean, organised, and always one step ahead. Standards don’t drop because it’s a Tuesday.

• Upsell with genuine enthusiasm – not because you’re told to, but because you actually know what’s good and you want guests to experience it.

• Be a brilliant team player – because great service is a team sport, and everyone across the F&B operation wins or loses together.

• Set the vibe – the energy you bring when you walk onto that floor sets the tone for the whole room. Make it count.

What Do You Need?

• Real front-of-house experience – you’ve worked in a quality hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting and you know what high standards feel like.

• A genuine love for this industry – you care deeply about how guests feel, you take pride in every interaction, and you’d rather be on the floor than almost anywhere else.

• Solid food and drink knowledge – you can talk confidently about the menu, suggest wine pairings, and guide guests through their choices without breaking a sweat.

• Personality that fills the room – warm, confident, and the kind of person guests gravitate toward because you make them feel genuinely welcome.

• Ice-cool under pressure – fully booked on a Saturday night? You’re in your element, not your element of stress.

• Responsible alcohol service knowledge – you understand your licensing obligations and take your duty of care to guests seriously.

• Food hygiene certification – a nice bonus, but not a dealbreaker. Passion and attitude will always beat a certificate.

• EPOS experience – handy if you have it, easy to learn if you don’t.

What We Offer:

We believe great people deserve great rewards. Starting with an OTE of £14.80 per hour, here’s what else comes with the role:

• A genuinely brilliant place to work – Graduate Cambridge is one of the city’s most-loved hotels, and working here means being part of something people are proud of.

• Dining perks across our portfolio – enjoy discounts across the White Rabbit Hospitality family of venues.

• A career, not just a job, we promote from within, and the people joining us now are the senior team of tomorrow.

• A team that has your back – development plans, honest feedback, and managers who actually care how you’re doing.

• 28 days holiday including bank holidays, because rest matters too.

White Rabbit Hospitality is on a serious growth trajectory and the waiting staff who join us now are exactly the people we’ll be backing as we scale. Whether you want to develop your service expertise, step up into a supervisory or management role, or explore opportunities across our wider portfolio of incredible venues, we’ll invest in you every step of the way.

Sounds Like Your Kind of Role? Let’s Talk.

If you’re a skilled, passionate waiter or waitress who brings energy and heart to every service and you’re ready to do it in one of the UK’s most iconic university cities, we’d love to meet you.
