At Santa Joana in Lisbon, our recently Michelin recognised restaurant that is turning heads across Europe's most exciting food city, we're building a front of house team as exceptional as the food we serve and we're looking for a passionate, polished Head Waiter to help lead it.

What Will You Be Doing?

You'll be a key leader on the floor at Santa Joana, supporting the Restaurant Manager, guiding and inspiring the service team, and ensuring every guest experiences the very best that one of Lisbon's most celebrated restaurants has to offer.

• Lead and support the front of house team throughout service, ensuring every table is looked after to the highest standard of care and professionalism.
• Deliver an exceptional and personalised guest experience that matches the quality and ambition of our Michelin recognised kitchen.
• Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of the menu, wine list, and beverage offering, acting as a confident and knowledgeable guide for guests throughout their dining experience.
• Support the training, development, and day-to-day coaching of junior front of house team members, helping to build a service team that sets the standard in Lisbon.
• Anticipate guest needs, handle requests with grace and efficiency, and resolve any issues with warmth and professionalism.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service, maintaining clear and respectful communication throughout every service.
• Maintain impeccable standards of table setup, floor presentation, and service mise en place ahead of every service.
• Support the management team with reservations, floor planning, and the overall organisation of service.
• Bring energy, elegance, and genuine warmth to every shift, at Santa Joana, the front of house is as important as what comes out of the kitchen.

What Do You Need?

• Proven experience as a Head Waiter, Senior Waiter, or strong Waiter ready to step up, within a fine dining, Michelin recognised, or high-end restaurant environment.
• A genuine passion for food, wine, and delivering exceptional guest experiences at the highest level.
• Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine pairing and fine dining etiquette.
• Natural leadership qualities with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop a front of house team.
• Warm, polished, and confident communication skills, in both Portuguese and English (additional languages are a bonus).
• A meticulous eye for detail and an uncompromising commitment to quality in everything you do.
• WSET or relevant wine and beverage qualification (desirable but not essential).
• Experience working within a Michelin starred or recognised restaurant environment (desirable).
